Lieutenant-General Aleksandr Galkin
He was born in 1958 in North Ossetia, in the city of Ordzhonikidze.
He graduated from the Ordzhonikize Higher Combined-Arms Command School, Military Academy named after M.V. Frunze, Military Academy of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Russia.
The officer service was begun by him as a rifle platoon commander in the Group of Soviet Troops in Germany, he commanded company, battalion, regiment, was a chief of staff of army, army commander, the Deputy Commander of the Siberian Military District.
He served in various regions, almost all the military districts from the Far East and Siberia to the Transcaucasia.
From 2008 he was the Chief of Staff – First Deputy Commander of the Siberian Military District.
He was awarded Order "For Service to the Motherland in the Armed Forces of the USSR» of the III degree, many Medals.
Presidential Decree of January 11, 2010 appointed him as the Commander of the North Caucasus Military District.
